About S.A.E.F.

The Student/Athlete Educational Foundation, Inc., (SAEF) is a division of The Center for Health & Athletic Performance, Inc. (CHAP)

Established in 1985, CHAP, Inc. has helped many high school and college student/athletes manage hectic and often stressful lives by providing helpful information, sports-related services, and resources all in one place. Since its inception, athletes have come to CHAP with questions about conditioning, and what to eat and when. In addition, athletes have received help with injuries and proper rehabilitation." CHAP's founder is a nationally recognized massage therapist who has worked with athletes for more than 30 years. He was a member of the 1996 Summer Olympic Sportsmassage Team and has a background in nutrition, strength conditioning, exercise physiology, career counseling and sport psychology.

CHAP's philosophy is that the serious student/athlete - not the one who just shows up to add a line to a yearbook page - needs and wants good advise and counseling when it comes to help in improving sports and academic performance. For the serious student/athlete, these two factors are tied together. Chap recognizes this and provides a variety of assistance. We've been helping student/athletes reach their goals for achieving their personal best, while at the same time, helping their team and school.

In 1999, CHAP, Inc. established the Student/Athlete Educational Foundation, Inc. as a non-profit component of CHAP. The Student/Athlete Educational Foundation sponsors a website at http://www.chap.com.

"Over the years, athletes have asked lots of questions. It has always impressed me how serious many athletes are about their sport and their future in college and beyond," says "Doc" Warnock, CHAP's founder. "Most of the information included on the website is a result of all those questions and concerns. The website is dedicated to all those athletes who get up early to run, practice hard, compete for the good of the team, and feel good about their efforts."
